Gildewerk dipping paint is a water-based paint. A single dip into gold or silver dipping paint will give a candle a luxurious look. Candles float on top of the paint, so they must be pushed under the surface. For this reason, these paints are supplied in handy tubs with sufficient space for dipping small moulded candles.
